“At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity”.

In a previous post, we explored some of the challenges faced by women in the legal industry in Japan and the role of firms like TKI in transforming this landscape and inspiring the next generation. Continuing with this, in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, we are pleased to present a dialogue on the importance and role of female leadership in accelerating progress, followed by an in-person networking session and light meal, on 6 March 2025.

Through this hybrid event, we aim to foster a better understanding of the opportunities and issues for women in leadership positions in law (whether it be private practice, in-house, the public sector, or academia) and beyond; and how such roles are central to addressing the systemic biases that women continue to face. We have an exciting line-up of inspiring women from across the legal industry who will share insights from their personal experiences on the journey towards leadership. The panel will discuss key topics such as overcoming challenges at the workplace, strategies for success, the importance of mentorship, and how to accelerate action in promoting diversity and inclusion within the professional sphere, in alignment with this year's International Women's Day theme of “Accelerate Action”.

The event will be held both in-person at our offices in Tokyo and online through zoom. In-person seats are limited to 35, so register today to reserve your spot! Attendance will be confirmed once we accept your request to attend. The event will be conducted in English.
