Global Compliance & Crisis Management
We work with companies to develop and implement compliance programs for their global business operations and proactively provide advice to mitigate risk. In the event of a crisis such as a corporate scandal or regulatory violations, we work closely with management to investigate the root cause, formulate and implement measures to remediate and prevent recurrence, and liaise with the relevant regulatory and enforcement agencies. Our experience includes advising on, and dealing with, anticompetitive conduct (cartels), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other foreign anti-corruption regulations, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar privacy protection laws, financial regulations and laws, export control regulations, and economic and trade sanctions (OFAC).
Because regulatory investigations are often conducted in multiple jurisdictions simultaneously, the difficulty lies in addressing country-specific issues while still ensuring consistency with the global response. We draw on our extensive experience in cross-border matters to devise an overall optimal strategy that is then specifically tailored to, and implemented in, each country.
